Job Description

DB Insurance is seeking a Litigation Counsel with experience in litigation, particularly in property/casualty and auto insurance matters. • Case Strategy and Evaluation: Assess and develop case strategies, provide recommendations on settlements, and ensure alignment with company risk tolerance and objectives.

  • Legal Guidance and Compliance: Offer expert legal guidance on property/casualty and auto insurance-related claims. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, protecting the company's interests.

  • Cost Management: Monitor and manage litigation costs, reviewing outside counsel invoices and working to reduce legal expenses where possible without compromising case quality.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks, advising on mitigation strategies to protect the company from unnecessary exposure.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and documentation for all cases, preparing regular status reports for senior management on ongoing litigation and potential impacts.

Qualifications

  • JD degree from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing of the CA state bar
  • 3+ years of experience in property, casualty, and auto insurance litigation (either in-house or with a law firm)

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with insurance policies, coverage issues, and industry regulations

Benefits
