Job Description

DB Insurance is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented 1st Party Property Claims Adjuster/Examiner to join our team. If you’re passionate about customer service, have strong investigative skills, and are experienced in property claims, we’d love to meet you!

 

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, and settle 1st party property claims, ensuring accurate assessment of damages or losses
  • Review and interpret policy coverage to determine the extent of the company's liability
  • Work with field adjusters, contractors, appraisers, and other professionals to ensure accuracy of repair or replacement costs
  • Communicate with policyholders, ensuring a seamless claims process by explaining coverage, next steps, and settlement offers
  • Negotiate claim settlements within established limits and authority, balancing customer satisfaction with company interests
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of claims, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company policies, state laws, and industry best practices related to property claims
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve complex claims issues
  • Establish reserves, monitor, and make adjustments accordingly based on claim developments
  • Handle in-house claims and oversee claims under homeowners and commercial property claims managed by a TPA (Third-Party Administrator)
 

Qualifications

  • 2+ year(s) of experience as a homeowner or commercial property claims adjuster/examiner or in a similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience in the insurance industry
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Xactimate and MS Office/Google Workspace applications
  • In-depth understanding of property and casualty insurance, including policy interpretation and claims processes
  • AIC, CPCU, or other relevant insurance certifications are a plus
